The Piccolo Xpress may display various error codes when a fault is detected during testing. Some of the most common issues include:

Reagent & Calibration Errors

  • Code 13: Expired reagent disc detected. The analyzer's built-in sensor will not allow expired discs to run.
  • Error 4056: Disc Date Illegal. This is usually caused by outdated analyzer software requiring an update.
  • Error 410D: Barcode Format Error. Typically indicates a dirty or damaged barcode reader lens
  • Error 403A: Bead missing
  • Error 403D: S/D Mix or Sample Mix : The analyzer detected improper mixing of sample or sample/diluent.

Hardware & Mechanical Errors

  • Error 4210: Cuvette Sensor Error. This is usually related to a dirty optical sensor that requires cleaning.
  • Error 4220: Drawer Open Jam. The analyzer failed to complete the task of opening the drawer to accept the disc.
  • Error 407F: Fan/Motor Fault. Indicates an internal hardware issue or mechanical failure.
  • Error 4036: Analyzer is too Hot. 
  • Error 4037: Insufficient sample The analyzer could not detect enough sample in the rotor.
  • Error 4043 — Sample Blank Read: Inconsistent blank read during baseline optical measurement. Typically caused by rotor defects or sample contamination.
